The Haçienda Has Been Rebuilt! (2012)
This is a 1:50 scale, hand built, 3D, reproduction model of Manchester’s legendary night club. It     faithfully replicates Ben Kelly’s original design and incorporates many of the building’s iconic interior and exterior features used during the 15 years the club was open. The model, made with the permission of FAC51THEHAÇIENDA, was initially used in 2012 as a focal point at events across the city to mark The Haçienda’s XXX 30th birthday party celebrations of the club which opened on the 21st May 1982.
The model, which took several years to research and build, includes: DJ booth, opening and closing loading bay doors, projector screens, balcony tables and chairs, ‘Hicks’ and ‘Kim Philby’ bar (with stocked beer can chiller) pay kiosk, Cafe, illuminated fire exit signs, double glass apex roof, canal footpath and working street lights.
The model is mounted on a display cabinet with perspex glass top and can be viewed in 360° and incorporates many apertures allowing the viewer the opportunity to see inside the model to various parts of the club. Images of the model below:
